What is the Classroom Camera Project?
The Classroom Camera Project involves faculty members being videotaped while teaching, followed by the evaluation of teaching using a self-assessment checklist.

What makes this program different or unique?

It is painless! Just sign-up and a camera will be brought to your classroom with a (free) blank tape!

It is confidential! You can view your tape in the privacy of your home or office.

It is helpful! The Self-Assessment Checklist will help you identify your teaching strengths and areas to work on.

It is flexible! You can have a trusted colleague or mentor do the evaluation.

What does the checklist include?
The checklist includes evaluation of teaching effectiveness, evaluation of communication effectiveness, and an evaluation summary for future planning.

What makes this program different or unique?

For starters...

You can do a pre- and post-evaluation by doing it twice during the quarter or year

You can exchange tapes and evaluate teaching with a colleague

You can do the taping once and have it reviewed by another person and yourself Camera

How do I sign-up?

1. SIGN-UP
   Complete the Sign-up form. Call TRC at x7-7424 for a copy. Submit sign-up sheet at least one week before requested date of taping. The Sign-up form includes an agreement on copyright and video use.
2. VIDEOTAPING DATE
   One video camera, with blank tape, will be delivered to your classroom by a TRC student assistant Tell student assistant where to put the camera, to capture your teaching as you move about the classroom. After taping, you will receive the video tape and the Self-Assessment package. Student assistant will take back the video camera.
3. PLAYBACK your video tape in the privacy of your office or home. Review your teaching using the Self-Assessment Checklist.
4. OPTIONAL: Contact TRC for follow-up.
5. FEEDBACK TO TRC: To help improve this program, send TRC your comment/s and feedback using the Feedback Form that will be sent with the Self-Assessment Checklist.
